Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Damian Marley, also known as “Jr. Gong,” is a multi-talented artist – a DJ, singer, lyricist, and rapper. As the youngest son of reggae legend Bob Marley, Damian has carried on his father’s musical legacy, earning four Grammy Awards. From his early career with the Shephards to the groundbreaking “Welcome to Jamrock” album, and the collaborative effort “Distant Relatives” with Nas, Damian’s versatility and social commentary shine through his music. His latest album, “Stony Hill,” clinched the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2017, showcasing his enduring influence and innovation.

Stephen Marley

Stephen Robert Nesta Marley, often known as “Raggamuffin,” is a Jamaican-American musician and eight-time Grammy Award winner. As the son of Bob Marley, Stephen’s musical journey began in the renowned group Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. His solo career, marked by albums like “Mind Control” and “Revelation Part I & II,” has earned him additional Grammy recognition. Beyond his solo success, Stephen has been a prolific producer, contributing to the musical landscape with remixes of Bob Marley’s classics and collaborations with artists like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu.

Winston Rodney, born on March 1, 1945, in Saint Ann’s Bay, Jamaica, is the iconic reggae singer-songwriter widely known as Burning Spear. A Rastafarian and influential figure since the 1970s, Rodney’s journey began with his group, Burning Spear, releasing hits like “Marcus Garvey” and “Slavery Days.” His profound commitment to Pan-Africanism and self-determination echoes in his music. Over the years, Burning Spear has navigated various record labels, earned Grammy Awards for albums like “Calling Rastafari,” and continued captivating audiences worldwide with his timeless reggae sound, fusing elements of jazz, funk, and psychedelia. His live performances are legendary, and after a brief retirement, he returned to the stage, leaving an indelible mark on reggae history.
