Selassee & the Fafa Family is a reggae/world/african music group based out of Boulder, Colorado. Front man Selasee Atiase comes to us from the city of Accra, Ghana, where he was heavily influenced by Ghanian and other African music styles. Selassee moved to the United States and began his solo career in 2001. Selassee’s first album, titled “Run” was released in 2006, followed by his second album “African Gate,” which came out in 2010. The groups most recent album, “Time for Peace,” was released in 2014. The title track was awarded “Best World Beat Song” by the Akademia Music Awards in December 2014. Selassee has dedicated his life to the music and has shared the stage with some of reggaes greatest icons, such as Don Carlos, Barrington Levy, Yellowman, Anthony B, and more. The band continues to produce music and perform at events such as Bohemian Nights New West Fest in Fort Collins, CO and more.
